Change for the better

10th November 2006 at 00:00
Welcome to the new TES. We have produced our new paper and glossy magazine after talking to teachers about what they wanted.

You asked for a better organised, neater paper. You said you would like it to be more modern and to reflect the fact that teachers are busier than they have ever been. So look for the primary news section and the pages devoted to news on a range of curriculum subjects. If you are short of time, keep up with the news just by reading our account of the week in education (below).

Find out about the latest research and what it means for you and don't miss our light-hearted look at education's quirkiest stories on the Time Out page.

Our new magazine is about you as well as about education. You will find advice about job-hunting, health, money and travel. There are pieces about the big issues that affect teachers. Take a peep into teachers' classrooms and at how they teach and keep up to date with the latest ideas. We have pages of inspiration and good practice in clearly marked primary and secondary sections.

The website, too has been updated to strengthen its most popular features.

Share your problems in our busy staffroom forum. Use the new Jobs watch for advice on careers and recruitment and news about the job market. In the review bank you'll find an online library guide to the best materials to help you in the classroom.

Some things remain the same. We will continue to be first with hard-hitting education news and investigations. We want to reflect what's great and what's difficult about teaching. We will still speak up for the profession and we want the new TES to be at the heart of the teaching community. We hope you like it. Let us know.
