It must obviously be a relief to the good people of the Scottish Borders to know that there is no crisis - this week at least - in the great world of education. Three years ago, not a week went by without some wild allegations about ineptitude, mismanagement and much more.

Nothing much doing was this week's message. The meeting of the education executive was cancelled "due to lack of business".
