Has your LA introduced the new terms and conditions?

sos1: So far I have only seen drastic change for short-term supply teachers. Nothing else seems to have changed. What happened to the proposed new posts ... increased week for probationers ... maternity?

airy: Our probationers all have increased timetables and those on chartered teacher have been told to stop. The issue of maternitysickness and school closure days hasn't yet come up. Everything is about cost-cutting and de-professionalising teaching.

Dominie: Some authorities have not implemented all aspects of the SOD (sell-out deal). Those who are less financially challenged don't need to - YET. However, as the cuts bite, it's only a matter of time.

airy: I think even the better-off authorities have implemented these.

cochrane1964: Fully implemented. No cover available. Classes not taught by specialists.

sos1: I think the recent changes will push me out. What infuriates me is that I have come across so many incompetent, disengaged, self-serving teachers who are happily coasting along in regular, permanent jobs!

Dominie: I can see no alternative to sustained, discontinuous strike action. The issue which will spark this is pensions. You change what you can change and you pick your battles!

catmother: SSTA has just announced it is to ballot.

piglet171: That'll be interesting. What if primary supply teachers end up being paid less than secondary?
