Cheap loans give home help

TEACHERS will qualify for interest-free loans to help them buy their own homes under new plans unveiled by the Government.

David Blunkett, Education Secretary, says he hopes more than 3,000 teachers will take up th offer in areas where property prices are soaring. They will be among 10,000 public-sector workers to get support from a pound;250 million Starter Home Initiative announced by John Prescott, deputy prime minister.
