Christmas sit-in;FE Focus

(Photograph) - Jackie Berry, one of the women who occupied the headquarters of Nottinghamshire women's training scheme in Worksop for a month in a last-ditch bid to prevent its closure. The county council had decided to close the award-winning training project on the grounds that it was too expensive. Up to 20 trainees occupied the building from December 2 but gave up on January 4 after the council obtained an eviction order. Jackie spent Christmas Day in the centre where supporters brought her seasons greetings and dinner. Photograph by Jamie Jones
