Church bigotry

We must scrap Clause 28

IT IS a perversion; it is immoral... The eagerness of some church leaders to attack a change in the law which seeks only to protect the vulnerable is quite despicable.

Even when it was introduced in 1988, Section 28 of the Local Government Act - which allegedly revents the "promotion" of homosexuality, while in practice encouraging the idea that gays should be treated as social outcasts - was illiberal. It paves the way for homophobic bullying with potentially lethal consequences. The Catholic Bishop of Glasgow seeks to defend vile bigotry.
