Clarke woos ethnic voters

Charles Clarke, Education Secretary, this week launched a scheme to encourage people from ethnic minorities to vote. The project, called Understanding Power, organised by Operation Black Vote, is aimed at 11 to 16-year-olds and uses music, fashion and film to promote an interest in politics. Simon Woolley OBV national co-ordinator, said: "Too many young people are disengaged from civic society."
