(Photograph) - The closure of small, rural primary schools in Wales has been stepped up with the announcement that two full primaries are to shut.
Pembrokeshire County Council has approved plans to close Hermon and Tredafydd primaries and merge them with schools in neighbouring villages.
Hermon's chair of governors Nerys Nicholas (pictured front with head Maureen George), denies that there are any convincing arguments for the closure. She said: 'We are a strong school, and we can see continued growth. We're not going to dwindle in the next five years. So we are very worried.' Photograph by Richard Lea-Hair
