I am a 22-year-old female teacher, and I vaguely know one of my Year 10 girls socially. She has given my MSN address to other girls in class. They are delightful. They send me short stories and poems they've written and I advise them on books they might enjoy. Am I doing anything unprofessional?

I've been told I need to work on my presence in the classroom. Any ideas on how I do that?
