October 21-January 21 Gladiators and Caesars: The Power of Spectacle in Ancient Rome A model of the coliseum and life-size statues of gladiators will be included in this exhibition at London's British Museum.

Other sections will be devoted to chariot racing, the theatre and the manipulation of the games by politicians and emperors such as Julius Caesar and Nero.

November 18-20 The London Under 12s Exhibition Details of this exhibition, which is being sponsored by TES Primary magazine and Nursery World, are in the pull-out section of this issue. It will take place at London's Business Design Centre in Islington where more than 200 exhibitors will display their products and services. A seminar and training programme is also scheduled.
