The first US-style Federal Community College linking five institutions is to be launched by Education and Employment minister Baroness Blackstone at the House of Commons today.

Birmingham College of Food, Josiah Mason sixth-form college, North Birmingham, South Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield agreed a 10-point plan to share services, such as central purchasing, information systems and staff and curriculum development.
