SAVING PLACES. The National Trust is inviting children in three age groups under 16 to submit poems by September 15 on the importance of protecting the natural or built environment. Judges include poets Roger McGough, Gillian Clarke and Sandy Brownjohn, and actor Tony Robinson. National Trust gift vouchers will be sent to the winners and every entrant will receive a free anthology of the winning entries. Teachers' notes and application forms: 0181 464 1111.
