"From the Tamar to the Tyne - bringing it all together", the annual conference of the National Association of Music Educators, takes place in Gateshead, September 30 to October 2. It will involve participants from southern Cornwall to northern Tyneside. The programme includes presentations on transition and educating young Muslims as leaders in music, plus workshops on Gamelan, multimedia performances and singing. It has been co-organised by the Music Manifesto, an initiative offering a strategy and priorities for the music education of young people for the next three to five years.
