"Excellence, enjoyment and creativity in the humanities" is the theme of two conferences organised by the Humanities Association at Cosham, Portsmouth, October 14 (primary teachers) and October 15 (secondary teachers).

The subject of the Citizenship Foundation's "First Friday" seminar on October 7 will be "Continuity, progression and transitions in citizenship education". Venue: Ferroners House, Aldersgate Street, London EC2.
