As the new councils shake out their feathers, Eleanor Currie, East Renfrewshire's director of education, has been trend-setting. Currie appeared at a meeting of headteachers clad in blue and green, shades identical to those of the council's new corporate image. All a happy chance, Currie says, not a hint that she favours uniforms.
