Council shows its skills

SkillsActive, the sector skills council for leisure, has had its licence renewed

It was judged as good with a number of outstanding areas. Its successes over the past six years include setting up the Register of Exercise Professionals, which covers 75 per cent of UK fitness trainers, the creation of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting ExcellenceModern Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (Scotland), and the certification of 4,000 apprentices in the past year.
