OCTOBER-JUNE SHORT COURSES AT THE NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM, GREENWICH, LONDON SE10

Run in association with Goldsmiths' College, London, these courses, ranging in length from one day to eight weeks, form part of the Open Museum programme and can give access to degree study. Subjects include: London's maritime architecture, astronomy, local history, commercial London in the 17th and 18th centuries, underwater exploration, Nelson, and women at sea. OCTOBER 26-MAY 31 HIDDEN COLLECTIONS

Six one-day courses comprising lectures, seminars and visits to examine collections behind the scenes at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London SE10. OCTOBER-JULY COURSES FOR TEACHERS

Subjects to be covered at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Cromwell Road, London SW7, include: "Museum education: developing a project for schools", sculpture, the Tudors, Chinese culture and customs, Japanese art and design, William Morris, Hinduism and Buddhism, and how to use a museum.
