CPD for DIY

14th September 2007 at 01:00
New professional development courses for teachers aiming to create and deliver multimedia lessons are being launched by ConnectED.

Accredited by Ulster University, the CPD covers language labs such as Sony Virtuoso and mobile handheld devices such as Sony Play Station Portable. The courses guide teachers through the multimedia maze, showing them how to create their own singing, dancing classroom resources. The free audio editing and recording package Audacity is a feature, as is the facial animation and lip synching program Crazy Talk.

There is a strong focus on Lecturnity, a versatile package for capturing live lessons and creating multimedia resources online. Well established in the commercial world, the package's potential for schools is now being explored.
