Creation of a Highlands and Islands university

The creation of a Highlands and Islands university "is building to an unstoppable momentum", Mr Forsyth declared in his Stirling lecture. He announced that a significant hurdle had been cleared with the Millennium Commission agreeing to take the Pounds 38 million funding bid from Highlands and Islands Enterprise to the next stage. This sum represents half the total cost of the project.
