12th March 1999 at 00:00
AN INSPECTOR was removed from the team inspecting Crown Woods secondary school in Eltham, south London. Three of the five men suspected of Stephen Lawrence's murder attended the school. The inspector allegedly said some work done by a black 14-year-old special needs pupil "must have been done by a nig-nog". The Office for Standards in Education has withdrawn his accreditation and is investigating the matter.
