Cure for homesick Aussies

AUSSIE bars are thin on the ground in Llandudno. But if some of our more intrepid Antipodean cousins should find themselves stranded in north Wales, an alternative cure for homesickness is now available.

The Cyberskills Centre in Llandudno is offering half-hour calls to Australia and New Zealand via the Internet from December 11-20. Other countries covered include Cyprus and the USA.

Th centre, part of Landrillo College, will be hoping to catch the eye of passing travellers who want to phone home in the run-up to Christmas.

Stephen Bowkley, who runs the centre, said: "This is really a light-hearted way of showing people what you can do with the Internet while at the same time getting people into the centre, where we also offer training courses."
