I fear for Douglas Osler's life. Your postbag will be full of classicists' letters, huffing and puffing, ranting and raving, and berating the poor man for his heretic views.

So here's one to support the cause. Latin was dead and gone long ago and we are well rid of it. And just to fuel the flames - Gaelic won't be long in following.
