With the holidays fast approaching, I get the impression that everyone is turned off or gearing down slowly. I feel learning is not really taking place - and I am just talking about the staff. Everyone is just plain knackered.

I guess, like most teachers, you aim to get as much coursework done as possible at the beginning of term. Teaching and learning clearly do not always operate at the same level. My advice would be to simply lower your expectations and outcomes and make up any shortfall after the break. Write off the last lesson, too, and have a party.
