Discounts for Encyclopedia Brittanica's onlineservice and CD-Roms are available to schools through CHEST, a group that negotiates software usage agreements for higher and further education. The Britannica CD standard edition for a single user costs pound;35 with a Britannica Online subscription and pound;65 without. The multimedia edition is pound;45 with a subscription and pound;81.25 without. Secondary schools can save 20 per cent on online annual subscriptions, starting at pound;144 for 300 students or less, while primaries can save 30 per cent. The price for 600 students or less is pound;126. All prices exclude VAT. Authorised users can access the online service from home for pound;15 including VAT. The offer is available until December 31.
