Don't miss at BETT...

Capita Education Services Stand D20

At BETT this year, Capita ES will showcase the SIMS Learning Gateway, a product that enables schools to use their websites to provide broader access (for parents, for example, or local authority officers) to the pupil data they already hold on their SIMS systems. They'll also be showing the new Curriculum And Lesson Planner, which is designed directly to support the planning and day-to-day work of teachers in the classroom.

Facility Serco Learning Stand B20

Facility's approach is to focus on success stories in its user schools, rather than on showcasing technology. It will feature work on at John Cabot City Technology College, where Facility has had a major effect on teaching and learning.

e1 Pearson Phoenix Stand C60

Pearson's e1 system claims to be different in that it brings curriculum, management and communication together in a new way. It's designed to be hosted remotely, removing from schools the responsibility for looking after the system itself. It could well be a glimpse of the future of management systems - compare it with RM's and Capita's alternatives.

Integris RM Management Solutions Stand D50C50

RM's Management Solutions arm has been something of a dark horse of late, in that, although it's a major supplier of management systems, with a solid base of schools using Integris, the rest of us have heard comparatively little from it for some time. Now we know why. At Bett 2006 RM is launching Integris G2, described as the first of the next generation of systems. As with Pearson's e1, and the remote hosting used in some authorities by Capita, with Integris G2, the data's held centrally, and access to it is via the web. Sales and marketing manager Nigel Rayner says: "Instead of each school hosting its own MIS and trying to link data to the centre, Integris G2 sits at the centre. This means the school staff can concentrate on running the school, and not on running the system."
