Double strike threat

University and College Union members went on strike this week at The Manchester College to protest over proposed two-tier contracts. The union opposes plans to give inferior contacts to lecturers working with adults rather than teenagers. It is threatening further disruption in September during induction days if its demands to scrap the contracts are not met. The college has derecognised the union following a series of industrial disputes.
