Gateshead College plans to build new training centre for electric cars

Gateshead College is planning to build a new state-of-the-art training centre for making and maintaining electric cars with the aim of establishing the region as a leader in sustainable transport. It has submitted proposals to create the Centre for Sustainable Manufacturing, Productivity and Innovation at Nissan's Washington plant, at which it will train apprentices and students for the low-carbon car industry.
