Drugs scandal (not)

Delegates always have a good time at the annual conference of the SAEPSVS - the Scottish Association for Education in Personal, Social and Vocational Skills, for the uninitiated.

It was held recently at the Scottish Police College in Tulliallan, and this year teachers of social and vocational skills had a more exciting than usual offer from president Veronica Cassidy.

Drawing an after-dinner session to a close, Cassidy was pleased to offer the chance for anyone who wished to go outside before retiring to the college's smoke-free bar. Unfortunately, she suggested that "anyone who wants a smack break should take it now . . ."

If SVS only went beyond Standard grade, it could have brought a whole new meaning to Higher Still.
