So the GTC is now five years old. It is true that the council does not talk to its members. It does not acknowledge, even less answer, letters from its members. I have been trying to get a reply from this organisation since March, to no avail. Is it any wonder that it is held in contempt by those whom it purports to represent? The fact that the Secretary of State for Education should speak favourably of the GTC shows how ignorant she is.
The solution to the GTC's problem is not privatisation: it is the early abolition of this expensive and utterly useless bureaucracy that is required.
