Early years education must not be put at risk by changes to the way it is funded, the Commons schools select committee warned this week. The committee discovered that at least 61 local authorities have failed to allocate extra money for state schools and nurseries under the Early Years Single Funding Formula, a new system that has to be implemented by next April.
