This year's Bookstart in Scotland conference, "The Importance of Early Years Parenting", is at the Signet Library in Edinburgh on September 10. Speakers include Culture Minister Michael Russell, psychologist Suzanne Zeedyk of Dundee University, Scotland's chief medical officer Harry Burns, Detective Chief Superintendent John Carnochan of the Violence Reduction Unit, and Scots author Matthew Fitt. The conference will provide information on early book sharing, and interest heads of service, policy makers, librarians, and all early years practitioners working with children from birth to four years old.
