Last week's TES front-page caption wrongly named Edexcel as the exam board which had scrapped its GCSE in archaeology and 10 other subjects. The exams were in fact scrapped by the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance - as correctly stated in the story on page 6. We apologise for the error.
