Edexcel has lost a multi-million-pound contract

* Edexcel has lost a multi-million-pound contract to run the national testing system. From 2008, the exam board, which is privately owned by Pearson, will be replaced by ETS Global BV. The American not-for-profit testing company has signed a pound;156m five-year deal to register, print, distribute, collect and mark progress tests for Year 7 pupils and for key stages 2 and 3.
