Editor's letter

The days are long. The SATs are past. Summer's here and the time is right for dancing in your class. Also for writing stories and creating works of art.

With the school year drawing to a close, now's the chance to slow down a bit and have some fun. Take our movement project (pages 29-32) out of doors to enact a street scene in the playground. Art, too, can go into the open air if you wish. Carolyn O'Grady's article on a Tate Modern schools project (page 18) will help you and your children open up to post-modernism.

Use the winning pieces of autobiography in the Write Away cometition to inspire your class to find the magic in their own lives and set it down on paper.

Now for some "admin". PrimaryPlus is no longer included in the magazine. It is now published online, available on our website only by using the password published on this page. By the autumn, we plan to have a complete online library of PrimaryPlus, going back to 1999, for you to download at any time.

Finally, we're taking a summer break ourselves this year, and will return on August 23 with a September issue packed with inspiration for the new term. Have a good summer!
