Edmonton - Blaze leaves 120 pupils at home

2nd October 2009 at 01:00

Pupils at Houndsfield Primary in Edmonton, north London, were left without classrooms after a serious fire last month. Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters tackled the blaze, which left the entire junior school unusable.

Sixty Year 6 students are being taught at nearby Churchfield Primary, which is federated with Houndsfield. Another 60 have been given space at Latymer Secondary. However, 120 are still at home while Enfield Council tries to find places for them.

Petrol cans were discovered at the site, and police are investigating. GL.
