Elton John awards for English

SIR Elton John has given his permission for English Language Teaching's version of the Oscars to be called the "Eltons". The foot-high, matchstick figure is to be awarded annually by the British Council to honour innovation in teaching English to overseas students. The first three winners are BBC Worldwide, the Flo-Joe website, and Warwick University.
