The end of the National Year of Reading;In brief;Curriculum

THE END of the National Year of Reading will be marked by a conference in Edinburgh. The event, organised by the Scottish Centre for the Book, will take place at Napier University on September 24 and 25.

The annual Macmillan Lecture will be given by Janice Radway, professor of literature at Duke University, USA, and

a pioneer of investigations into reading.

Lindsay Fraser of Booktrust

Scotland, Professor Jonathan Rose of Drew University, USA and Professor Simon Eliot of the Open University, director of the UK Reading Experience
