A series of books designed to help people on peacekeeping and humanitarian missions learn English and a degree course in teaching English to refugees is on the shortlist for a British Council award. They are among 12 potential winners of the "Eltons", recognising excellence in English language teaching products and services. Three will be awarded pound;1,000 prizes next month.
