Mark McEvilly has shared more than 100 teaching ideas to promote boys' achievement and keep them interested in the classroom.

What is it?

100+ Fun Ideas for Teaching Boys in Primary Schools (Brilliant Publications) is an easy-to-use reference book of activities to inspire reluctant boys in subjects including literacy, maths, PE and geography.

Why is it useful?

The introduction explains the neurological differences between boys and girls. Each activity is explained in a clear, bullet-point format over at least half a page, clearly stating the items needed for each task and the curriculum links.

The contents page divides the tasks into subject areas and the kind of learning they use - visual, auditory, kinesthetic, team, competitive andor higher order learning. The index is broken down by subject and topic for easy reference.
