A group of 15 Aberdeen pupils from S4 and S5 have been selected to compete for a pound;14,000 year-long work placement, modelled on The Apprentice.

"The Recruit", organised by the Enterprise North East Trust, is drawing on expertise of local businesses and the Royal Air Force's motivational outreach team. There will be team-building, courses on CV and application- form skills, mentoring from business people and one-to-one interviews.

The Recruit will run from October to January, outside school hours, with the winner beginning work in February 2011.
