Eton teacher spared jail

A classics teacher who worked at Eton college has escaped jail after admitting downloading child pornography. Ian McAuslan, 58, quit his post at the Berkshire public school earlier this year after IT staff found indecent images of boys on his computer. He was given a nine-month suspended sentence at Reading crown court this week and will be placed on the sex offenders' register for seven years.
