Step Up, "the longest schools' arts festival in the world", takes place in the North- west, July 1-10. The programme includes arts exhibitions in Manchester showcasing the best of the region's under-18 artists.

The sixth Big Draw will be held October 1-31, with Big Draw Day on October 15. Schools, youth groups, museums and other organisations are invited to register free by August 12 and receive a free CD of ideas for activities.
