Also keen to catch students for their SQA exam revision, Hodder Gibson has four new titles. Higher English Close Reading Preparation offers, they say, "a broad range of gently graded reading material" which aims to encourage enjoyment in reading. Harry Potter, Desperate Dan, Friends Reunited and TV soaps feature in a collection of 20 passages, with a CD-Rom containing suggested answers.

Higher English Close Reading includes six practice papers and a photocopiable book of suggested answers. Intermediate 2 English looks at textual analysis, close reading, prose, poetry, the critical essay, personal study and the writing NAB.

Higher Maths Objective Tests: Revision Notes and Questions gives guidance for the most recently introduced section of Paper 1 - non-calculator objective questions. Questions are arranged by topic and level of difficulty; answers are provided.
