Explore children's rights

13th January 2006 at 00:00
You Have the Right is an award-winning film by South Tyneside children about children's rights. Now it has inspired an excellent pack of activities that will cost almost nothing to stage, but will deepen pupils'

understanding of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. They might design a "rights machine" to explore some of the Convention's 42 clauses or run an interactive chat show, always keeping in mind that rights and responsibilities belong together. The You Have the Right pack is free for all schools in South Tyneside. Other schools can buy it for pound;45. For more details contact Particip8, Unit 141, TEDCO, Jarrow NE32 3DT.
