Judith Gillespie, development manager of the Scottish Parent Teacher Council, noted last week that Brian Souter, the Stagecoach tycoon who wants to keep "gay essons" out of schools, had decided it was time to issue an "I trust teachers too" message. "He sees the local authorities as the wicked fairies in all this, not the teachers," Gillespie remarked to the Parliament's education committee.
