Farmers are doing their bit for schools

10th November 2000 at 00:00
David Newnham is right about the benefits of school farms ("Cows on the curriculum", Friday, October 20). Few schools have their own farms, but the NFU's Education Initiative is a viable alternative.

NFU members across England and Wales host thousands of school groups every year. Our educational materials enable teachers to pan a range of lessons around the visit. Teachers tell us the next best thing is our education website (www. nfu.org.ukeducation).
