Fat lady sinks

it's not only teachers who rely on dodgy transport. Organisers of an open day for sixth formers at Aberdeen University were disappointed when star turn, Clarissa Dickson-Wright of the Two Fat Ladies cookery series, failed to turn up for a Ready, Steady, Cook style presentation on student eating habits on Tuesday.

Clarissa, famous for roaring around in the side-car of a motorbike driven by late co-star Jennifer Paterson, is obviously experiencing mobility problems without her partner. Her car had broken down in the Cumbrian hills.
