Feline business plan

18th March 2005 at 00:00
The charity Cats Protection looks after 7,000 stray cats on any one day. GCSE pupils can explore the reality behind that figure through the 14-16 Business Challenge CD-Rom. They need to understand the organisation's aims and methods, and research and analyse statistical data about how costs arise and how fundraising works. Then, after investigating the demographic profile of some imaginary towns and drawing up a marketing plan, they make a presentation about the establishment of a Cat Adoption Centre. There's more to it than the feline feel-good factor - the best presentations can win prizes.
