The 2007 Co-operative Young Filmmakers Festival takes place at the National Media Museum in Bradford on October 12-13, and films have to be submitted by July 6. But this year, young directors can find help on a new website.
Written by film-makers, the website provides hints on getting started, including sourcing and using equipment, selecting a genre, and information on courses and work experience. The festival invites films (no more than six minutes long) by anyone under 21. The 100 best are selected "on creative spirit and evidence of co-operation". Successful young directors can see their work on the big screen at Bradford and attend events and masterclasses hosted by experts. Download entry forms: www.youngfilm-makers.coop
