Fingers out

2nd June 1995 at 01:00
You probably don't need reminding about the pain of getting fingers trapped in a door, or even worse, between the hinge side and door frame.

Now a new product, Fingersafe, designed to protect fingers from closing doors, is being promoted with the claim that a closing door can exert 40 tons of energy momentum, a painful fact that has put 30,000 children into hospital.

Fingersafe is a plastic shield that pushes objects out of the way as a door closes. It costs Pounds 20 per door and is available from Fingersafe Ltd, Centra House, D6 Brookside Business Park, Manchester M24 1GS. Tel: 0161 643 3223.
